Having graduated from Brighton University, Spike chased a corporate career in London. He soon realised the error of his ways and returned to reality in Brighton. Spike then built up and ran his own public accountancy practice in Brighton and Hove.

His passion and enthusiasm for small businesses gained him a sound reputation amongst the local business community for being pragmatic, accessible and for the ability to build a good rapport with his many clients from the creative and media industries.

Tired of the merry-go-round of tax and vat returns, he sold the business in 2001. Spike then moved on to consulting and investing in businesses overseas in California, Bali and Australia, interests that he still retains.
