Gainsborough Dyeing

Have you ever wondered how dyeing gets done?

During our recent visit to Gainsborough Silk Weaving, we were delighted to be able to take a look at and record some of the inner workings of Gainsborough's dye house.

Below are slides demonstrating the drip dyeing process -

At ao textiles, we have always put dye at the forefront of our projects. A fascination with colour is one of the core reasons we find collaborating with Gainsborough such an exciting prospect. They share our belief that colour is one the most fundamental and powerful aspects of the beauty of textiles.

While visiting Gainsborough, you cannot help but be struck by an inspiring mixture of sights, sounds and textures. The above picture really sums up the workshop's unique combination of innovation and vibrancy we find there on each amazing trip.
