my search for a larger, more nuanced colour palette led to an interest in the dyestuffs and recipes used in historic fabrics. the huge, vibrant colour range produced by over- washes and cross- dyeing using only renewable and bio degradable plant sources is endlessly exciting. with shocking pink being the only colour that i have not yet been able to create, my dyes defy the belief that natural dyes produce dull or dowdy colours.

i am a graduate of the royal college of art in london.  an interest in sustainable methods of textile production began while studying traditional hand weaving and the use of natural dyes in oslo, norway on a british council scholarship.
